The journal invites submissions for a special issue of the Journal of Excellence in College Teaching that explores ways to integrate communication instruction much more broadly through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) curricula than occurs at most universities today.

CALL FOR CHAPTER PROPOSALS

The Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication (CPTSC) invites interested members to apply for research grants up to $1,500. CPTSC funds research projects that contribute to our collective knowledge about all aspects of program administration. Proposed research projects should relate to one or more of the following goals:

Today, 70–80 women attended the first ATTW Women in TC Luncheon. Women attending participated in small-group discussions addressing topics that included

• networking/mentoring opportunities
• institutional or programmatic struggles experienced by women in TC
• research-based interests in women/gender in TC
• barriers and experiences of women in TC
• publishing in TC

We would like to thank the women who served as facilitators at tables for different topics.

Anita addressed that we have two tracks of education in the TC classroom—theory with emphasis on mechanics and design and applied learning with focus on tool training and skills. In the past, academia has struggled with TC:
