Programmatic Perspectives is a semiannual peer-reviewed journal of the CPTSC, the Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication. The inaugural issue was published on March 1, 2009, at http://www.cptsc.org/pp/.

The editors solicit full articles, opinion pieces, and program showcases. We also seek reviews of books and other media of potential interest to technical communication program administrators.

The journal's audience consists largely of administrators of academic technical communication programs. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to

  • Program assessment
  • Program maintenance
  • Program transitions (e.g. expansion from certificate to major)
  • New program development
  • Curriculum development and innovation
  • Recruitment and retention of students and faculty
  • Faculty development
  • Technology integration
  • Relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders
  • Issues of diversity, cross-cultural communication, internationalization and globalization
  • Historical perspectives on technical communication program administration
  • Perspectives from disciplinary and administrative contexts not traditionally associated with technical communication

Pedagogical articles should be connected to programmatic issues. The editors welcome all queries.

Please send your submissions to Tracy Bridgeford at tbridgeford@unomaha.edu.
